About

I'm a ceramic sculptor currently based in Kent/East Sussex. Drawing on my background in traditional and hand building techniques, I create small collections of one of a kind vessels and sculptures.

Animals, the environment, and natural landscape have always been interconnected with my practice. I look for the moss, lichen, algae in the wall cracks or rotting trees- organisms that grow when nature is left to be. I enjoy the slow process of exploring organic techniques such as excavating local clay from my families fields and local river banks, collecting hair and animal bones for wood firing and creating scratch made glazes. The result of this slower process and organic techniques result in volcanic reactions between glazes and the clay body itself; subtle gestures with dark tones and rough surfaces. I like my pieces to be tactile, contemporary ceramics with an ancient feel.

Sadly, I don’t take commissions.
