Inspired by calm feeling of floating in the water, I wanted to re-create the motion of emerging from the sea. Between the waves around the peaceful head, is melted green glass enhancing the water reflective appearance.

The base of the tile is cedar wood, finished using a Shou Sugi Ban Japanese wood burning method that preserves the wood using fire. It has been sealed in boiled linseed oil. On the back is a mounted plate hanger sticker, enabling it to be hung.
