Bathing in Memories or ‘Tub Lady’, is inspired by my mum. When I was young, I would sit on the toilet seat whilst she bathed and we would chat about our day. A quiet moment of connection. 

Hand built from black clay and partially glazed with a green glaze, Bathing in Memories sculpture shows a figure soaking in a bath of melted green glass. The serene figure is looking out to the side as though in conversation, with a hand and a flannel resting on the edge of the roll top tub. Small details that evoke the intimate, homely presence I remember from my childhood.
