Inspired by sundials, the passage of time, and the cyclical rhythms of life, this piece reflects on where we stand within that continuum. Designed for a sunny spot, it casts a single shadow, quietly marking time as life moves around it.

Hand-built from black groggy clay, its organic form retains the natural imprints of my thumbs—raw, untouched, and shaped by instinct. The base is crafted from cedar wood, treated using the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method, where fire preserves and enhances the wood’s character. Sealed with boiled linseed oil, it grounds the piece with warmth and history.
