The rugged landscape of this hillside tile was influenced by the South Downs and my own family pony Ranger (a little Irish cob); It’s a personal reflection of the landscape I grew up in.

The base of the tile is cedar wood, finished using a Shou Sugi Ban Japanese wood burning method that preserves the wood using fire. It has been sealed in boiled linseed oil.
